You Prepare for Every Showing. Prepare for Your Safety, Too.
Private showings. Open houses. First-time clients. Meeting unfamiliar people alone comes with the job. This practical self-defense training walks you through an open house scenario that turns physical and helps you recognize warning signs, respond early, and break free from a violent attack.
Watch the Training
The video below. Five minutes. Watch it all the way through once, then rewatch the three escapes.
Make It a Habit
Review the quick reference below before every showing until it’s automatic.
The goal isn’t to fight. It’s to get out.
Most violent encounters are over in under ten seconds. No warning. No time to think. In that window, you won’t rise to the moment. You’ll fall back on whatever you’ve trained. That’s true at a showing, in a parking lot, or in your own driveway.
You’re not being paranoid. You’re being professional.
of agents have feared for their personal safety at work.
of those moments happened at an open house. Showings were close behind.

Common questions.
How should I practice the escapes?
Slowly, with a partner you trust, and with light contact. Go step by step until the sequence feels natural, then build speed. Never practice strikes at full force on a partner.
I don’t host open houses. Is this still for me?
Yes. The video is set at an open house, but the same risks show up at showings, vacant listings, and first meetings with new clients. The skills go with you everywhere, including home.
What if I’m not strong or fit?
FMA techniques rely on structure, leverage, and timing, not size or strength. That is the point of understanding why each movement works.
What will the full course add?
The complete FMA safety system for real estate professionals: every escape broken down step by step, drills you can do at home, and situations beyond the open house. Join the waitlist to hear first when it opens.
Can Scott train my whole brokerage?
Yes. Scott offers in-person sessions for brokerages, teams, and associations. Call (928) 925-2642 or email scott@fmadefense.com.
